I'm going to talk to you from my heart as a dietitian with 30 years' experience, specialising in weight management, weight loss surgery, and now the weight loss injections. The biggest frustration I have is the misunderstanding of how to use the injections correctly and what they actually do. It is more than just weight loss and appetite control.

The awful side effects that you experience are often because the dose is too high and not managed correctly. In clinic I often recommend that my client reduce the dose by at least threefold. They are then able to get the results that they desire and avoid all the complications.

What I've done is put together a very brief 12-minute video presentation below. Take a look at this and it will help you determine which category you fit into and whether the injections would be of benefit to you. Would you need them long term? What are the additional benefits the injections offer also?

No matter whether you take the injections or not, your lifestyle needs to be appropriate to maximize the effect. Just like I've been saying for 30 years, with weight loss surgery also. The surgery, the injection on its own, will not give you the right weight loss. What do I mean by the correct weight loss? It's all about body composition: lose the fat, maintain or increase your muscle mass. If you are an older female (35+), the way to achieve this with your lifestyle is now different.
