Are you fed up with the empty answers to explain your lack of vitality ?

How many times have you repeated your symptoms to doctor after doctor, only to walk away with the same generic advice and no real improvement? The recommendations sound familiar, the solutions feel recycled, and despite your best efforts, you continue to feel worse and increasingly out of control.

Here’s the truth: the traditional responses listed below are no longer serving you.

  • Just exercise more and eat less and you will be able to lose weight

  • You're tired because you are a mum, working long hours and your brain does not turn off, hence you have poor sleep.

  • You are getting older, it is normal to feel foggy headed and less alert.

  • Just use a fan for when you experience hot flushes, you will be ok.

  • You may need an antidepressant, as you are feeling more anxious and low mood than ususal.

  • Try an elimination diet, your bloating should improve and go back to normal.

What once worked in your twenties and thirties simply doesn’t work the same way now. For women over 40, shifting hormones during perimenopause and menopause and altering your physiology changes everything—from weight regulation to energy, mood, and overall health.

It’s time to stop relying on the outdated, onesizefitsall advice you keep hearing. Those classic responses aren’t just ineffective at this stage of life—they may actually be making you feel worse.

There was a time when Helen - Dietitian - used to struggle too

I have been strong and healthy all of my life. In my 40’s, things started to go pear-shaped. These are photos of me below, and I am happy to be sharing my journey with you. Essentially, traditional methods and advice when dealing with perimenopause and menopause made me overweight, fatigued, foggy headed and feeling out of sorts. The hormonal changes affected all areas of my body, and this was exacerbated with the ongoing stress I felt.

As you can see in the last photo, I have regained myself and feel stronger and healthier than I did at 47. I am excited to let you know that my mental clarity makes me feel like I’m in my 20’s again and as my hormones continue to change I have the tools and knowledge to adjust my routine to navigate my weight, and wellbeing, successfully.

Feeling out of control doesn’t have to be your reality anymore. Emerging, sciencebacked research now explains why the commonly recommended nutrition, fasting, and exercise advice for women over 40 is often ineffective—and in many cases, counterproductive. Chances are, you’ve heard these recommendations more times than you can count.

The truth is, these approaches can place additional stress on your body. It’s a perfect recipe for feeling… well, “crap.” Not the most elegant word, but undeniably accurate. You may simply feel like you’ve lost your spark—and you want it back.

I’m deeply passionate about helping women in their 40s and beyond feel their best again. With more than 26 years of experience as a dietitian, I’ve seen first hand how transformative it can be when women finally feel free in their bodies and around food.

Meet Cathy Grech - Personal Trainer

With so many gyms, health clubs, and personal trainers out there, choosing the right fit can feel overwhelming. Ultimately, it comes down to finding someone who understands your goals, supports your needs, and creates an environment where you feel safe, encouraged, and genuinely motivated.

I believe fitness is a lifelong commitment—not a quick fix—and that it should enhance both your physical and mental wellbeing. Most importantly, staying fit and healthy should be an enjoyable part of life, not another chore on your todo list. That’s why I focus on making movement fun, accessible, and sustainable for women over 40.

I’ve always lived an active lifestyle, from team sports to outdoor adventures, and I firmly believe that any fitness routine should include activities you genuinely love—whether that’s hiking, cycling, swimming, or simply kicking a footy around with friends. Joyful movement is powerful at every age, but it becomes especially important as we move through our forties and beyond.

I opened my personal training studio in 2004 with a clear mission: to offer a fresh, supportive, and enjoyable approach to staying fit and strong. Many of my clients have been with me for more than 15 years, because fitness has become a natural, rewarding part of their everyday lives—not a temporary phase.

Alongside more than two decades of experience, I also:

•            Am an accredited trainer with AUSactive

•            Hold Certificate III and IV in Fitness

•            Am qualified in First Aid

My philosophy is simple: your health and strength are the foundation of your life. We often take them for granted, but when they slip, we realise just how essential they are. You have one body and one life—and you deserve to feel strong, capable, and energised in both.

To support you, I’ve created a welcoming, judgementfree environment where every woman is valued. I don’t mind what you wear, how long it’s been since you last exercised, or where you’re starting from. What matters is helping you build strength, confidence, and resilience at your own pace. In my studio, every woman is welcome—and every woman is capable of feeling strong again.
